Flash-based ‘AR’ experience site
2010

Nintendo tasked my team to come up with a unique concept to help them support and distribute this Nintendo DS title through their E-Store. Playing off the novelty of the title which allowed the user to capture themselves in various poses to add themselves to the game, we produced this site, one of the first AR companion sites in the market.

Creatively we landed on a cardboard cutout look and feel, playing off the in-game assets as well as using references from martial arts movies. As you can see, the team had a lot of fun with the design and were able to include themselves in the experience, playing off the augmented reality nature of the game.

To support the games unique concept and limited connectivity, we created the Sensei’s corner, a suite of “downloadables” that the user could capture with their Nintendo DSi’s camera and microphone to enhance the character they built in game. These downloadables included backgrounds to fight against as well as some special move sprites for the character to use.
